Please NEVER give your password set up in Handy
Backup to ANY TekSavvy employee! Your data is encrypted in our
server by an encryption method that is unbreakable based on the
password you were asked to enter when you installed your backup
system. This should not be confused with OR THE SAME as the
password you are given in your signup information. This
encryption makes it IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to view your backed up
information on our server. It is VERY important you remember
this password. Without this password, you will NOT be able to recover your data even though we
have it backed up! If you are worried that you do not remember
your password, please contact us immediately. If you are bound
by the PIPED Act (Personal Information Protection and Electronic
Documents
http://www.privcom.gc.ca/legislation/02_06_01_e.asp) we
advise you make your password (5 random characters
and 5 random numbers.)
DISCLAIMER: Although we
monitor each of our client backups closely for connection
problems and such, it solely remains the clients responsibility
to be sure crucial files are indeed being backed up via the
automated monthly reports sent to the address provided in your
signup information, or by following the information provided in the manual
under Program Maintenance. We will not be held responsible for
your backup system failing to complete its regularly scheduled
event, nor will we be held responsible for data loss because of
this. As mentioned however, we do monitor all our accounts
closely, and will normally find a problem before you do. The
manual provided has vital information on checking and
maintaining your automated backup service. It is important to
read these instructions because of the type and amount of data
being normally stored; problems can and will arise. Most
problems can be rectified by reading the manual troubleshooting
section, or by emailing us the error you may encounter. Please
read the Offsite Backup Service Manual. You will be billed for
your service regardless of whether or not your backup is
functioning correctly. |
